Woodwork for a sustainable future

The Woodstores has been born from a lifelong love of working with wood, and using my hands to create something to be proud of.

Over the years friends and family have regularly asked for small items, cupboards or garden items such as loggia, pergola or log cabin construction. The common theme has always been wood. It is a passion, and something I take great pride and satisfaction in. All the products in my store are hand crafted, and use the creative side that I have long since enjoyed.

As we entered lockdown one, I decided to make use of the time at home and develop a small business from the products I was making. Initially these were larger items such as the Adirondack love seat, or the everyday tables that appear in the store. These are big items and take a while to complete to the standard I expect. I then began working with Oak, and found a real enjoyment in making items that we would use at home such as deli boards, drinks boards and particularly the oak pillar candles which I turn by hand.

I love that the fabrics of my labour are built from something that has grown out of the earth.

The products that I make are not only beautiful and natural, but also personal. How better to celebrate a wedding anniversary, a christening, a new birth than with a simple oak gift that will last forever. Each item can be personalised with your own text, dates and sometimes images. If you see the right product, but want your own modifications, please get in touch as it is very likely possible.

Bespoke items are also possible. From specific shaped oak cutting boards for sinks, to Iroko bath mats, there are many items I have created as one-off designs. Following your approval from a computer generated mockup, I am happy to create the perfect item for you or your loved ones. Again, don’t be afraid to ask - I love a challenge!
